Today is Superbowl Sunday! Two years ago, my Super Cooper was born in the early morning (7:29) on Superbowl Sunday. I vaguely remember the game being on in our hospital room that evening, but I was a bit distracted by the little bundle of joy snoozing at the end of the bed. I think maybe the Colts played that year? I could google it, but I don't really care that much. :-) I know I wrote the teams in his baby book.

This morning when we got to church, two of the nursery workers- I LOVE our nursery workers- said "Oh we are so glad Cooper is here! We were just talking about him!" Oh really? "Yep, we were talking about his belly!" That cracked me up! He is definitely in full-on toddler mode, but he still has that baby belly. Love it. :-)

Look at this beauty that is spending the afternoon in my oven! My in-laws got me the Le Creuset dutch oven that I've been wanting for years. Would you look at that gorgeous color! I'm breaking it in with this recipe for Beef Pot Roast Marsala.

I just started serving in the preschool Sunday school classes a few times a month, so I am becoming more familiar with the curriculum they use in the children's ministry. For the little ones, they focus on three basic truths: God made me; God loves me; Jesus wants to be my forever friend. (I think I got those right, forgive me KUMCers if I mixed them up with the elementary school curriculum.) Obviously Cooper is still in the nursery, not Sunday school, but we have started talking more about these type of things, so I decided to quiz him.
Me: "Who made you?"
Cooper: "God!"
Me: "Does God love you?"
Cooper: "yes"
Me: "And Jesus wants to be your....."
Cooper: "Buddy!"
Well, I think he's getting it, don't you?

I have absolutely no willpower against Hershey Kisses. None.

Quick update on the napping. It has gotten better, in that he is actually taking naps again. Granted, they are short (usually about an hour) and taken on the floor in front of his door. But it seems to be enough to get him through the evening without major meltdowns.

I took a brief break from the Hunger Games series, but after I saw the trailer for the movie, I had to dive right back in. I read Catching Fire in a day and a half....I even propped it up so I could read while drying my hair. And now I'm about to start Mockingjay. So addictive! And I'm still loving my Kindle.
