I did something revolutionary...some would even say shocking....for Georgia's first birthday. I threw a small party. I love big, rowdy parties, and all of Cooper's have fallen in that category. I admit that I get a little psycho-stressed for a few days leading up to a big party, but in the end I'm always glad I did it. I have loved having our house filled with so many of the little cousins and friends for Coop's birthdays. But for Georgia, I surprised myself by just craving something quiet. I decided just to invite immediate family and a couple friends-who-are-like-family. I admit it was hard....there were quite a few people who it was hard for me not to invite. But I knew that if the house was filled to the brim, Georgia would get lost in the shuffle. I'm really so glad I did it this way. It was a calm, enjoyable day....exactly what I wanted for my sweet girl's special first birthday.
I made the wreath using this tutorial. Took FOREVER!
My awesome friend Renee made the cupcake for the front door (the other side is orange and blue!) Check her out at A'dore Couture Designs on Etsy!
Grammy and Howgie gave her the cutest doll stroller!
And the next day grams surprised her with a special ladybug car, made just for Georgia Cate!
I know that first birthday parties really mean nothing to the one-year-old, but I do hope that someday Georgia looks back at these pictures and is reminded that we celebrated her first year on a day filled with love!
